We had a great group of riders today, 12 bikes / 15 people. It was an interesting ride that included something for everyone... flat grip-n-rip, tight narrow twisties (it was scenic, Diane), sun, rain. And we never actually made it to Highlands. Somewhere between Lake Rabun and Clayton we found the 50% part of the rain in the forecast and got sufficiently wet before finding a place to pull off and put on the rain suits. By the time we got to Clayton we decided to have lunch and see what the weather would do. The rain kept coming so we decided to head back toward home. Oh well, maybe next time... still better than mowing grass or anything else resembling work.

The ide was geat - that stretch along Lake Rabun is as pretty as it gets in Ga - or anywhere else for that matter.
Audrey and I never could catch up to the main pack heading home -you guys must have been flying to avoid the raindrops!

I rode in the back of the pack and enjoyed watching how great our club did maintaining their gaps in the formation. Great job to all. Our leader did a great job and picking a very fun and a very picturesque route. Sorry Mark and Audrey It was difficult to keep count in the rain. Thanks again to all who joined us on the ride and I am looking forward to our next ride

Not sure how the rest of the ride back home on 985 was but Mark Bell and I took 52 W towards Delahnuga/400, and the rain, although not constant, it was unbelievable at times!! However, the ride/route selection was great, and the rain, well "it" just happens (at least, it was not cold)!

It was a great day despite the rain. I just wish I could have tried the cold duck salad from the “upscale” French restaurant! Thanks to Gary for leading and to all for the great turnout.
